- EVENT is part of the Future Forces Exhibition & Forum 2026
This event aims to accelerate innovation, strengthen cooperation and support the development of NATO’s future CBRN defence capabilities by connecting new technologies with CBRN experts, end-users, procurement officials, and representatives from NATO nations and selected NATO partner nations. It offers a unique opportunity for innovators to present solutions directly to military end-users and capability developers.
Background
The global security landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, driven by geopolitical instability, rapid technological transformation, and the emergence of increasingly complex Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats. To remain operationally ready and strategically resilient, NATO and its partners must continuously modernise, adapt, and strengthen their CBRN defence capabilities.
Innovation is no longer optional, it is essential. Emerging and disruptive technologies are reshaping the future of defence, offering new opportunities to enhance detection, protection, situational awareness, decision-making and medical countermeasures across the full spectrum of CBRN defence. At the same time, many innovative companies, start-ups, and research institutions face significant challenges in connecting with military end-users, operational experts, procurement authorities, and capability developers.
The CBRN Defence Technology & Innovation Forum 2026 has been designed to bridge this gap. The Forum provides a unique international platform where innovation meets operational reality by bringing together industry leaders, military professionals, scientists, policymakers, NATO representatives, and CBRN experts to exchange knowledge, foster cooperation, and accelerate the development and adoption of next-generation CBRN solutions for a safer world.
Organized by the Joint CBRN Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN defence COE) in partnership with NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (NATO DIANA) and the FUTURE FORCES FORUM (FFF), this event aims to shape tomorrow’s CBRN capabilities today.
Mission
The CBRN Defence Technology & Innovation Forum aims to accelerate the development, integration, and operational adoption of innovative technologies that enhance resilience and preparedness against existing and emerging CBRN threats.
In cooperation with NATO DIANA, a selected group of high-potential CBRN defence companies has been invited to present their cutting-edge solutions. Their contribution will alternate with expert presentations and networking sessions. The purpose of this event is to foster modernisation and adaptation in CBRN defence by connecting next-generation technologies and innovative solutions with CBRN defence end users and SMEs, strengthen cooperation with industry partners, facilitate the exchange of information between industry and CBRN experts and therefore directly support NATO future capability development.
Why you should attend
Attending this conference will provide a valuable insight into newly developed technologies and innovative solutions in the field of CBRN defence. The high-quality presentations and discussions will enhance professional knowledge while enabling direct information exchange with international CBRN experts. In addition, the networking opportunities will foster strategic partnerships and future cooperation. Overall, participation represents an important step in strengthening both individual expertise and institutional capabilities.
Who should attend
We warmly welcome all interested stakeholders, CBRN experts, national representatives, operational practitioners, procurement officials, policymakers, scientists, researchers and technology developers.
Note
CBRN Defence Technology & Innovation Forum is open exclusively to NATO nations and selected NATO partner countries: Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Ukraine, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Republic of Korea.
